Your warranty covers “latent defects in material or workmanship by the prevailing standards of construction” (Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County - Limited Warranty Agreement). A latent defect is what was not readily apparent at the time of occupancy.

What is not covered:

A loss or damage that is caused by such acts like fire, smoke, water escape, glass breakage, insect or animal damage, etc. are not covered. Damage from alterations, improper maintenance, misuse or abuse of the covered items by the occupants are also not covered.
