Support Community Stability
and Belonging

The 2026 LaFreniere Court Initiative

LaFreniere Court, located in the Birchwood neighborhood, is about more than building affordable housing. This initiative is a commitment to safe, stable homes where families can put down roots, children can thrive, and opportunity can pass from
one generation to the next.

With your help, we will ensure that 18 sustainably built, permanently affordable homes become a connected, thriving community, with shared spaces that nurture
safety, belonging, and resilience.

Each home and community space represents a collective promise that Bellingham is a place where we can settle, grow,
and flourish together.

Built for living.
Rooted in belonging.

LaFreniere Court is an 18-home development in Bellingham’s Birchwood neighborhood, designed to provide high-quality, permanently affordable homes for families who have long been priced out of the housing market.

These net-zero, energy-efficient, two- and three-bedroom homes include townhomes and detached residences that represent a powerful promise: sustainability, community, and the opportunity to put down roots.

This intiative will ensure that LaFreniere Court becomes not just a collection of houses, but a thriving, connected community.

Without shared spaces, families remain isolated behind closed doors.

Without safe places to gather, children lose opportunities to play freely, neighbors miss chances to connect, and community never fully takes root.

Affordable housing alone does not guarantee belonging, though community does.

LaFreniere Court provides a rare opportunity
to offer both.
