Matthei Place was KulshanCLT’s first large-scale development and a groundbreaking model for affordable urban infill housing. Located in the Happy Valley neighborhood and completed in 2013, this 14-home community combines energy-efficient construction, permanent affordability, and walkable design. It was the first of its kind in Whatcom County and set the stage for future KulshanCLT projects. Today, Matthei Place remains a thriving, multi-generational neighborhood offering lasting stability for seniors, young professionals, and families with children.
