Indiana Street Homes
KulshanCLT plans to begin construction of its Indiana Street homes in fall 2012, adjacent to its recently completed super energy-efficient Madrona Street home. Two of the four planned homes will be built in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Whatcom County. In keeping with KulshanCLT’s goal to build energy-efficient and affordable homes for low-income homebuyers, the Habitat homes have been designed to Passivehaus standards.
Design of the Indiana Street Homes was the result of a design competition in association with the local AIA chapter. Many thanks to Fred Wagner of Grinstad & Wagner for taking the lead on this community effort, and the winning designs by Doug and Susie Landsem at Landsem Architect AIA, Marcus J Swed AIA, and Stig Carlson AIA, and interns they mentored.
